Transfer
The faculty views the ‘Third Mission’ as a mandate to bring knowledge and innovation beyond the realm of research into society, the economy and politics. In this way, we create genuine added value and help address key issues for the future.
Institute for Entrepreneuship
The IES trains the entrepreneurial talents of tomorrow at the University of Bonn and conducts research into how they can effectively contribute to sustainable social transformation.
Teacher training
Subject-specific pedagogy for the vocational fields of agricultural economics and food / home economics. The chair’s primary focus is on training teachers for posts at vocational colleges in these subject areas.
Campus Kleinaltendorf /
Transfer to the region
The practical implementation of many project outcomes and networking with stakeholders in the field of bio-based innovation and the bioeconomy takes place, amongst other places, at the bio innovation park Rheinland e.V., which has a significant influence across the region.
One example is the "Workbox", a demonstration project by the University of Bonn, Alanus University of Applied Sciences and Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences for building with renewable raw materials (primarily Miscanthus and Paulownia).
Similarly, the "Meckenheimer Apfelminze" selected on campus is marketed regionally by the company TeeGeschwender, with the packaging made from plant fibres.
Institute for
Cultural Landscape Research
The Institute for Cultural Landscape Research – founded in collaboration with the "Stiftung Rheinische Kulturlandschaft" – positions itself as a practice-oriented institution.
It combines conservation theory with practical implementation and is specifically aimed at specialist government departments, agricultural stakeholders, nature conservation organisations and regional authorities.
In doing so, the faculty strengthens its social responsibility and impact directly at the local level.
Transfer Center enaCom
The enaCom Transfer Centre supports members of the University of Bonn from the start-up phase right through to transfer projects, working in collaboration with industry, society and the political sphere.
Its aim is to raise public awareness of knowledge transfer pathways and specific transfer projects. We advise start-up teams and provide support for a wide range of transfer activities.
It serves as the point of contact for both internal and external parties regarding enquiries about start-ups and other transfer activities at the University.
Agrarkarrieretag
For over 10 years, the "agrarzeitung" and AgroBrain have been organising the Agricultural Careers Day (Agrarkarrieretag) during the winter semester in cooperation with the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences at the University of Bonn.
Graduates from agricultural faculties are in demand as never before. A shortage of skilled workers and demographic change promise excellent career prospects. But what jobs do companies actually have to offer? What requirements do they place on applicants, and what, in turn, can new entrants expect from the companies?
PhenoRob Career Fair
Since 2023, the DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence “PhenoRob – Robotics and Phenotyping for Sustainable Crop Production”, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences at the University of Bonn and the Theodor Brinkmann Foundation, has been hosting the PhenoRob Career Fair every two years.
The career fair offers students, graduates and researchers from the fields of computer science, geodesy, robotics, plant sciences, soil science, agricultural economics and environmental sciences the opportunity to connect with employers outside the academic world.
CampusAckerdemie
Since 2022, the University of Bonn has had an educational teaching garden known as the "CampusAckerdemie". It builds on the multi-award-winning "GemüseAckerdemie" educational programme run by the Acker e.V. association and is aimed exclusively at trainee teachers and their training in school gardens.
School placements
During a one- to three-week work experience placement, students can put their skills and interests to the test in one of our vocational training programmes and gain an insight into day-to-day working life at our faculty.
The faculty offers three vocational training programmes (agricultural technician, biological laboratory technician, horticultural technician) in which work experience placements are available.
