Courses Offered

All information on the study programs of the Faculty of Agriculture including module handbooks can be found on the websites of the study programs7, the course catalog is available on BASIS8 .

In addition, the International Classroom Bonn9 seminar series offers interdisciplinary courses in English for exchange students.

We would like to point out that as a student of a Bachelor's degree program, you cannot choose courses from the Master's degree programs.

The courses in the Bachelor's degree programs are held in German, so that a very good knowledge of German is required to participate in the courses. In the Master's degree programs, numerous courses are offered in English.

As part of your stay abroad, you can choose one or multiple modules in the new Bachelor's and Master's programs at the Faculty of Agriculture. The courses of a module are designed in such a way that (with two exceptions) it is possible to complete a module in one semester. Please note that a module may also include tutorials or seminars.

Language Requirements

  • B1 knowledge of German for courses in German
  • B2 knowledge of English for courses in English

The University of Bonn offers intensive German language classes10 before the start of the semester as well as German language classes during the semester11.

If you have been accepted for a place in an exchange program at the Faculty of Agriculture, you will then receive an information e-mail from the International Office with all the important information for the organizational preparation of your arrival (mid-June / mid-December). You are also welcome to visit the website of the International Office to find out more about German language classes11, visas and insurance6 as well as the Welcome Days.
