Research
is our strength

Research

Our scientists conduct research in the disciplines of nutrition and food sciences, geodesy and geoinformation, food and resource economics, agricultural engineering, crop sciences and resource conservation as well as animal sciences to jointly find solutions to global challenges such as nutrition, resource conservation and climate.

In addition to disciplinary research, which is located in the working groups, interdisciplinary research foci have developed at the faculty. Outstanding collaborative projects include the PhenoRob Cluster of Excellence and the Collaborative Research Centers 1502 DETECT and 228 Future Rural Africa. Other key research areas of the faculty are also organized in interdisciplinary research centers.

Structural elements such as regional networks, core facilities and the external laboratories support research, teaching and knowledge transfer.

As one of the cornerstones of its strategy for excellence, the University of Bonn has established six Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRAs). Research at the faculty makes a significant contribution to the TRAs ‘Technology and Innovation for a Sustainable Future’ and ‘Life and Health’.
